C4PP

About

C4PP is an independent, not-for-profit collective of artists, actors, writers, musicians and creators addressing the issues that are defining the 21st century, from the crisis of capitalism, inequality and marginalisation to ecological and climate change.

C4PP is driven to build a new kind of creative media, politically committed, inspiring, provocative, humanistic; offering a hopeful vision of our future.

Above all C4PP's work will propose ways that citizens can actually get into political and social action and participate in building a better way forward.

C4PP

Vision

&

Mission

C4PP's vision is of a worldwide community of Activist Creatives and Creative Organisations focusing their talents and creativity on the urgent social issues of our time.

C4PP's mission is a simple one: to tell compelling stories and provide unique transformational artistic experiences that tackle our relationships to the challenges of our times and inspire people into action towards a better, more stable and fairer future.

C4PP

Partnerships

C4PP will partner with progressive social change makers and political and environmental organisations

We will provide them with entertainment-driven events and experiences to help them grow their profile and membership and get their message out.

C4PP is committed to non-elite creative projects that focus on the concerns of and connecting with hard-pressed families and young adults, inspiring connection, action and community across cultures.

We are not aligned with big businesses or corporations, and we are interested in making our work available and accessible to everybody, regardless of their economic means.

Anonymity Policy

Why aren’t the people behind C4PP put forward on this website?

C4PP’s members have decided that they will seek to remain anonymous at the public level across all media.

Here is why C4PP wishes to pursue this course of individual anonymity.

Whilst leadership and role modelling are important influences in social issues, C4PP feels that we have become, as a society, too distracted by personalities at the cost of not paying enough attention to important principles, policies, and ethics.

In addition, we do not seek individual public recognition for making C4PP projects' creative works as our aim is that the works themselves, the characters within those works, and the ideas in the stories can become the stars of C4PP’s work for social discussion and debate. In other words, don't play the player play the ball.

We are making work and creative entertainment projects in order to get people talking and hopefully encourage them to feel hopeful and see that things can be different in a good way.

But, most of all, we want people who engage with our work to take positive action. Action to heal. To bring about positive change for the largest number of people, especially the hard put upon people,  marginalized, exploited, and manipulated. Which means many, many of us. Certainly, the majority.

C4PP feels that there are many people who are excellent at pointing out the problems we face and the things that need changing. We do not see that we can add to that in a meaningful way and don’t need to.

We want to focus on what are the steps that an audience member, a family, or a community can take and what might be the key issues that they can focus on.

The main areas of social challenge that our works touch on and are focused on can be found above. They are not by any means complete and may change over time.

All this does not mean we wish to remain anonymous to those whom we work with, create with, and support our work in small interpersonal environments.

We can talk and meet and share ideas; however, we have to reach a clear legal agreement for that to happen. More on that at the end.

What are the benefits of anonymity?

Current perspectives are that seeking this kind of anonymity is counter productive to the engagement of the public of the work.

There are, though, many clear examples of creative projects where the identities of the creators are unknown, and yet they have enjoyed great success in that work. Artists, writers, and others have operated under pseudonyms and created identities.

There are reasons why this works, and C4PP hopes to be guided by those as it moves forward. Here are the main ones.

Mystery and Intrigue

Anonymity adds a layer of mystery and intrigue to the works produced. This generates curiosity and media attention, which can increase the reach and visibility of the works.

Universal Themes

C4PP’s work addresses universal themes within society, politics, social justice, and the human condition. Regardless of who C4PP is, people can relate to and appreciate the messages conveyed in the work.

Artistic Integrity

Anonymity allows C4PP to maintain a focus on the creative work rather than personal fame or celebrity that might evolve from identifying C4PP individuals with the project. This focus on the work itself contributes to the authenticity and integrity of the work, which resonates with audiences.

Counter-Culture Appeal

C4PP’s persona as an anonymous creative collective focused on social issues aligns with the ethos of counter-culture and to some extent about the need for rebellion against reactionary forces. C4PP’s anti-establishment stance and provocative characters, stories, and artworks appeal to those who identify with dissent and alternative viewpoints.

Cultural Impact

C4PP hopes that thought-provoking creative works across disciplines will spark conversations and challenge societal norms and keep attention of the ideas and cultural influence rather than the individuals creating the work.

Adaptability and Innovation

C4PP intends to continuously evolve its style and methods, utilising various mediums and techniques to convey the messages and stories. This adaptability and innovation will, C4PP hopes, keep the work fresh and relevant, ensuring continued interest from audiences and collectors.

For these reasons, C4PP seeks to promote C4PP as the creative entity and not any one individual or group of an individual's personality. We will see how it goes!

Earlier, we set out that private interactions, where identities are disclosed, are possible under certain circumstances.

For media platforms and organisations where C4PP might show and present its work; non-disclosure agreements will be required to be agreed upon between the organisation, its representatives, and C4PP.

Appearances on media such as podcasts and video interviews are possible, provided that agreed procedures to maintain the anonymity of the creators for C4PP being interviewed are made and adhered to.
